The three paintings of Oare Marshes were inspired by a visit in April.  It was a windy afternoon and we were looking out for curlews. In the distance we saw a dark downpouring of rain and it was coming for us. We turned and made our way back towards the car and arrived just in time. This was originally a series of 4 oil paintings to commemorate the day but one has already been sold to a collector. They were all painted on panel and come with the same black frame as the painting of Storm over North Kent Marshes.

The painting of the Storm over North Kent Marshes was shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2022. It depicts a view over the marshes and like the Oare Marshes series, is all about the weather.
